Bracklesham Bay

Located on the West Sussex coast near Chichester and Goodwood, Bracklesham Bay is an ideal British Beach location.

This is a destination beach for walkers, surfers and families alike. The beach is a mix of sand and stone depending on the state of the tide, a perfect place for buckets and spades. A prehistoric coastline, keep your eyes peeled for fossilised sharks teeth which can be found lying in the sand. You can walk along the beach from Bracklesham Bay to Selsey in the East or towards the villages of East Wittering and West Wittering in the other direction.

If you love coffee and yummy cakes and pastries, a visit to GOAT cafe is an absolute must! For eating out, Billy’s On The Beach restaurant has amazing views, but get in quick as the popular fresh seafood dishes are sell outs and there’s no where better than Stone and Skillet for perfect woodfired pizza!

East Wittering Village

Known by local’s as ‘God’s pocket’ due to its sunny climate, East Wittering is bursting with places to eat and drink and things to do. The village is lined with trendy surf shops, such as Shore Watersports, drinking and eating venues, such as Drifters and The Boulevard

You will find oodles of traditional village shops, deli’s, butchers, bakers, green grocers and super coffee shops like ground. You can even visit local pub The Shore Inn for a pint by the sea!

You will able to find absolutely everything you need for your stay right on the doorstep. 

The Witterings, made up of Bracklesham Bay, East Wittering and West Wittering are renowned for water-sports and pretty much any day, in any weather, you will find people out on the water. A great spectator sport, but should you wish to join them, equipment hire is available in many of the local shops. 

Chichester Harbour

A rich environment for sailing, there are many beautiful places to day trip in the harbour. Historical Bosham, beautiful Itchenor (including a trip on the ‘Itchy’ (Itchenor) ferry) and Chichester Marina are well worth a visit. If you’re interested in walking there are some beautiful stomps within the parameter of the harbour. You can also book a trip with Chichester Harbour Water Tours to get close up to the scenery and you may even spot a harbour seal!

West Wittering

West Wittering is a watersports haven, with miles of sandy beach and sand dunes it’s the perfect place to learn to surf. Get in touch with 2XS for watersports hire and tuition. An ideal place to picnic with the family; the beach has lifeguards in the summer and a wonderful cafe serving lunches, ice cream and hot chocolates all year round. A must visit is The Lamb Inn, a fabulous traditional Inn with yummy, scrummy food and a beautiful garden, nestled in the West Wittering countryside. You could also visit local pub The Wittering and sit in one of the garden beach huts with a glass of wine after a long day on the beach!

Chichester City Centre

The cathedral city of Chichester has been a settlement since Roman times. Independent shops, bars, museums, art galleries, the incredible Chichester Festival Theatre and eateries are sprinkled throughout, seek out avenues off the high street and you will find places like Draper’s Yard where you’re in for a real treat. Chichester Cathedral is well worth a visit and you may spot the resident Peregrine Falcons nesting in the spire.

Goodwood

Set in acres of glorious Sussex countryside this English estate is home to world leading motor racing and horse racing events. Many of our guests stay with us to visit Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and the Qatar Festival to name a few. Goodwood House is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Richmond and has one of the most significant private art collections in the country, you can also have a superb afternoon tea in this most magnificent setting.
